Victim Support Counselling: Healing & Growth One Family At A Time
At First Steps Count, we’re constantly reminded of how much our space and our services are two halves of the same whole. Time and time again, we find that profound healing and growth can be enhanced when done in an environment that is warm, welcoming and without judgement. There’s no greater example of this than our Victim Support Counselling facilitated by Social Worker and Centre Leader Toni Carson.
In this video, Toni highlights how our beautiful centre adds a gentle dimension to this 1:1 counselling service, one that is unfortunately in high demand. She works closely with individuals at the hub through complex trauma, helping local parents redefine what it means to be a parent.
This service is in high demand in our region. Given the training involved in understanding how complicated family stories can play out in our adult lives - and the nuance required in guiding healing - our capacity to offer this service is very limited.
This service is funded by the Victim Support Scheme through the Department of Communities and Justice.
