First Steps Count Raises Funds and Awareness at Bunnings BBQ

The FSC team had a successful and heartwarming experience running the Bunnings BBQ at Taree during Child Protection Week. Held on September 6, our BBQ not only raised crucial funds but also enabled us to connect with local families coming into Father’s Day 2025.

The Bunnings BBQ initiative has been a staple for community fundraising for over 25 years, providing a straightforward way for grassroots organisations to raise funds for their important work. First Steps Count was thrilled to use their platform, benefiting from the generous support of local sponsors and the community.

We extend our deepest thanks to our sponsors and donors who made this event possible:

Their support is invaluable and helps us continue our mission of providing a safe, inclusive space for families and children in our community.

Child Protection Week and Our Mission

This event coincided with Child Protection Week, an initiative by NAPCAN (National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect) to engage and educate Australians about their role in keeping children safe. First Steps Count is committed to this cause, offering a safe and welcoming environment where families can connect, play, and access the support they need without judgment or barriers.

We are grateful to everyone who participated, donated, or volunteered their time. Your support enables us to continue providing a space where families can thrive, where children can develop, and where service providers can deliver their vital work with ease.

Together, we are making a difference in the lives of children and families in the Mid Coast region. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
