First Steps Count Hosts over 300 Preschoolers for Combined NAIDOC Celebration

First Steps Count was honoured to provide its welcoming facilities for the Combined Community Preschool NAIDOC celebration on Tuesday, 9 September 2025 , an event that welcomed more than 300 preschool children, educators, families and community members.

The gathering, organised by Taree & District Preschool Ltd, highlighted the centre’s role as a safe, inclusive and vibrant hub for cultural exchange.

Director Kylie Jones shared: “I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to First Steps Count for generously allowing us to use your facilities … The welcoming space you provided helped create a safe, inclusive, and vibrant environment for children to engage with culture, community, and celebration.”

She added, “We deeply value the strong partnership we share with you and look forward to continuing to work together to create positive opportunities for our children and families.”

Footage of the event, captured by NBN News, shows how engaging the event was for little locals and grown ups alike. First Steps Count remains committed to fostering community‑led spaces that support early childhood development and cultural inclusion across the Mid‑Coast region.
