First Steps Count Celebrates International Women’s Day and Supports Ronald McDonald House at Club Taree Luncheon
5 March 2026 – First Steps Count was proud to participate in the 10th International Women’s Day Luncheon at Club Taree, an event that has brought the Mid‑Coast community together for a decade to stand beside families with a seriously ill child.
The Hub raised funds to sponsor seats for mums and a few volunteers from the FSC community, along with Director Clare Brennan and Centre Leader Toni Carson. These generous sponsorships came from individuals, businesses and organisations in our community.
Mums attending the Hub in the lead up to the event were given the chance to go in the draw by entering their names during their visit. Names were then drawn at random and invited to attend the heartfelt community event.
“Moments like this remind us what a caring community can do. Because when a child needs medical care, families need more than treatment alone. Support like this helps wrap families in care so they can stay close when they need it most.”
The luncheon, held from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm at Club Taree, featured inspiring speakers who shared their journeys through career, business, motherhood and life. Club Taree has been a long‑standing event partner for the past ten years. Thanks to the generosity of local individuals who sponsored seats, FSC was able to bring these mums, volunteers and team members to be part of the celebration.
