First Steps Count Receives CommBank Community Donation to Support Taree Families
Tuesday 02 June 2026 • First Steps Count has received $1,500 from the Commonwealth Bank's Taree branch, as part of the 2026 CommBank Community Donations Program. The program, which donated over $350,000 to organisations across Australia in its most recent 2025 round, supports local groups making a tangible difference in their communities.

For First Steps Count, the contribution will go directly towards the Hub's day-to-day work with families in Taree.
The donation comes at a meaningful time for First Steps Count, as the organisation continues to strengthen its community-led model and build sustainable support for the families who rely on the Hub's services.
“This kind of local recognition matters. It’s not just the funding — it’s knowing that organisations like our local CommBank branch see the value in what happens here every day. Every contribution helps us keep the Hub open, accessible and responsive to what local families actually need.”
The CommBank Community Donations program supports hundreds of grassroots organisations across Australia, helping fund essential equipment, services and programs.
First Steps Count remains focused on turning community and corporate support into real, practical outcomes for Taree families. This donation will be directed ensuring the continuity of the Women’s Art Group which has become an integral part of how the Hub fosters connections and builds capacity in our community.
