About First Steps Count

First Steps Count is a not-for-profit child and family hub based in Taree, NSW. We provide a welcoming space for play, connection, and early support — working together with families, service providers and supporters to create a stronger future for our community.

We at First Steps Count acknowledge the Biripi People, the traditional owners and custodians of the land where we work. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the wisdom, stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
